 and mountains bathe in milky pools.

We awaken to find we are lost in a silvery mantle of rain.

A balmy, sunny day,

and then as dusk gathers round us....

Swallows.

The beginnings of a chill is settling into the earth, into our bones.

Autumn has crept in the door and lies at our feet now.

All day the rain eludes us,

skirting the mountains,

the warm air damp with it's unfulfilled promise.

Darjeeling days, 

warm rain, 

and the clouds graze the mountain tops.

Finally the rains begin to recede, and as the sun dies, 

from behind the mountain the dragon appears once again.

Like an indomitable mother, summer shakes out the clouds,

shoos away the chill, and proudly presents the perfect day.

The sun bursts, bleeds into a sky that speaks of dragons.

Contumelious cloudbursts aside,

the sun persisted.

The sun, it seems has returned,

yet so unexpected the day is almost done before we realise.

The day insists on lingering,

unwilling to give in to night.
